Nysuatro Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 http://uk.promotions.yahoo.com/transformers/ Looks pretty cool ^^ Now a good story and i am sold Quote
GrayFox Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Well, Spielberg is onboard so it's bound to be somewhat decent Quote
Mazy Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Looks okay for a silly action flick, but it is Michael Bay so I'll put expectations on a firm 0, even though he excels in making those Quote
Zacker Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 I was totally in love with the Transformers cartoons when I was a kid:) Quote
JAL Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 The trailer was exciting until the end where it read "a michael bay film". Kind of like Mazy said, I have low expectations. Quote
SnipaMasta Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Wtf m8s? Best director ever. Seconded. Quote
dux Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 He directed the rock. I'm safe with him. Quote
hydeph Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 the visual style looks sweet~~~ the aCtual transformers tho, kinda.. ... . . . over CG'd tbh lol Quote
Mojo Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 if the movie actually has the style like the trailer - War of the Worlds esque - then I am all aboard, though its Bay so I am keeping the hype machine off for right now. Actually keeping the hype machine off indefinately means never going in and being disappointed on something not delievering Quote
Zacker Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 What is up with all the Michael Bay bashing? He has directed movies like Armageddon, Bad Boys, The Rock and Pearl Harbor. The Rock and Armageddon both being among my favorite films of all time, then I must say I certainly don't understand the Michael Bay bashing. Quote
Fletch Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 It's a July 4th movie. All I want out of a July 4th movie is: 1) explosions 2) a decent plot that leaves room for explosions 3) giant things (aliens, robots, etc. doesn't matter as long as it's huge). This movie fufils all requirements, and I for one welcome our new robot overlords. Quote
Mazy Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 What is up with all the Michael Bay bashing? He has directed movies like Armageddon, Bad Boys, The Rock and Pearl Harbor. The Rock and Armageddon both being among my favorite films of all time, then I must say I certainly don't understand the Michael Bay bashing. The Rock and Bad Boys are good action flicks, no doubt. I'll go as far as to say that The Rock does for action movies in the 90's what Die Hard did for the 80's. But Armageddon and Pearl Harbor? Whaaaa? I'll admit that I liked Armageddon when it came out, but thats nearly 10 years ago. His movies are perfectly fine as long as you don't expect too much from them. As Fletch said they're perfect if all you ask is loads of explosions and little else, and sometimes thats all you need. The best thing you can say about Michael Bay is that you know what you get at this point, for better or for worse Quote
Skjalg Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 He directed the rock. I'm safe with him. haha just what i was gonna say... have zimmer do the music too and its all goo Quote
