OL
How do I get max (7) to show transparency in viewports? My image has an alpha channel that renders properly, but I think there's a setting I'm missing somewhere
Rick_D
This is from Max8 so not sure if this will work for you; make sure you select the alpha channel for you transparency in the material editor window, and press your Up Arrow to go back to the window (in material editor) where you have the 'Maps' menu (diffuse, spec, bump, opacity etc), make sure your TGA (or whatever) is selected in the opacity option, and select the "view map in viewport" button (the blue and white checkered square), that should do it (so you'll have the square selected in this window (with the maps etc) and in the next window (with the alpha control etc). Also, configurations, viewports, configure driver, and select the bottom option
