Ally Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 I’ve just seen on the CryTek website that they may be looking for interns, and I’m just wondering if this is still the case? I’ve not long finished my game development degree and was thinking about sending over an application, from what I’ve herd the place sounds pretty cool, somewhere I’d defiantly want to work… any ideas? Ally Posted December 8, 2006 Author Report Posted December 8, 2006 Thanks, it’s been a long week… my blurry eyes are letting me down again Quote
st0lve Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Why don't you just send a mail to their human resource center and ask, will probably give you a more correct answer than anyone in here Quote

Fletch Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Just wait until Crytek pulls up and leaves Germany before they're all arrested for corrupting youths. Quote
narby Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 For which position would you be applying? Quote
Ally Posted December 9, 2006 Author Report Posted December 9, 2006 I’m going to contact the hr people and get some more details, but I’m sure I seen a post on the all knowing mapcore a while back about internships at CryTek , so I just thought I’d ask, didn’t think it’d do any harm! I’ll have a go at applying for a level design internship; the website seems to ask for people with testing experience (me) who would then want to, possibly after some time, move into other areas, such as art/coding/design. My chances are slim, but I recently lost my level design placement over in Edinburgh, so I’ve got nothing to lose! Basically if I apply, I may get a job, if I don’t apply, I definitely won’t! Anyways, I just picked up my wii, so I’m going go and investigate wii sports… Quote
ReNo Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Hey Ally, who were you working for in Edinburgh? I'm working for Outerlight there just now. And what uni did you do your game development degree at as well, out of curiousity? Quote
e-freak Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 ok i mistranslated "internship" with "intern relations" - sorry GL with the application - more and more people moving to the rhein main gebiet - seems like we can start a south-hesse mapcore thread Quote
Ally Posted December 9, 2006 Author Report Posted December 9, 2006 Reno, I was on the same course as Gayle, the Games Software Dev at Caledonian; I think she is working over in Outerlight just now on placement, say hi from me if she's is around! Tried for job at Outerlight once or twice, Ailsa always says no… I was basically working for Genuine Games, in small offshoot company called PlayTechnologies but someone, somewhere, spent all the money, so they sorta went a bit bust… and I lost my job! This sucks. It was a cool place as well, I got on with all the guys, most had been at Dare2bD at some point, and we had a pool table in the office and everything At the moment I’m basically applying for anything that’s going, I can’t get any shifts back at my testing job, so pretty soon I’m going to be very poor unless something turns up!
