user Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 Geez, what's next? Blame Tetris cause a kid swallowed a peice of Lego? No, Tetris is already responsible for making some guy make a tetris block costume and causing problems in a shopping area. Anyone got a link to that video? Quote
CrazyMAC Posted August 3, 2004 Author Report Posted August 3, 2004 EVR!~ keep an eye out for me on the friday news (uk) i'll be playing america's ten most wanted and maybe answering some BS question on manhunt...that will be a giggle they asked me as i was playing and i stuttered like hell =D but all good fun Quote
user Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 There was some news report on some site, I'm too lazy to dig up my irc logs but it mentioned parents "dropping off" (more like ditching) their children at "overnight gaming centers" (they can't even call em by the correct name), where the kids as young as 12 play violent video games. Of course they brought up the murder this topic is about. This proves it. It's completely bad parenting, or the person who wrote the article is a complete dumbass. You can't say parents are the ones responsible for their kids playing the games, then say the game's responsible for what the kids do. Games don't kill people, bad parenting does. Quote
CrazyMAC Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 agreed but it does'nt stop the press =( more crap in the papers today about this guy trying to ban doom3 and all violent games the shops should not take the games of the shelfs its really stupid i know this will all end in a week or 2 but gah it drives me nuts there making it worse by bringing it up in the first place like hmm whats that film where the girl has the devil in here and her heads turns around!! well that got banned and got like a cult following....but ppl still watched it and now u watch it and its like...wow this is fucking lame D= why was it ever banned anywhooo im talking crapness now back to work Quote
CrazyMAC Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 http://www.mcvuk.com/html/news/story.jsp?newsId=1928139 The story of the “Manhunt” murder case took another twist with the revelation that the game was present in the victim’s home, not the killer’s. wow the press put there foot in it this time LWEL! FrieChamp Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 The discussions in the media about violent games in relation to murder cases become more and more ridiculous, they just need something to write and people believe it. Quote
user Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Taking the games off store shelves would only hurt the developers publishers whoever (the people your $50 go to). If you really really want a game, but can't find it, are you just going to give up? No, you're going to download it. You still have the game that'll make you kill people at your school, and the people who would be getting your $50 don't get a single cent, (that is until they find out that the person didnt legally own the software, so they search the computer for more pirated games and then sue the parents of the suicidal murderer).
