configuring hammer for cs 1.6 in Steam

Hi,

Ive been trying to configure Hammer for cs1.6 for some long time and A) I havent found any tutorials on how to do this in Steam and B) I just cant do it and I dont have the time to find this out all by myself.

So my question: is here anyone who knows how to do this or can anyone link me to a good tut?

I wanna make map for some friends who are going to battle each other anytime soon. Any help will be very much appriciated!

You need to download Valve Hammer 3.4 -> http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?go=hammer

Install it and the first time you start the program, there will pop-up a question if you need any help with the config.

there is no way that i can do this through steam? and, can i use the steam directory for the config?
