Spellbinder Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Well i try now and again but i always fail in something. I made this monitor: Then i tried to texture it. And ofcourse i failed: If any one wants to find out why i fail heres the max: http://senduit.com/052de3 Of course i tried offset and stuff. Quote
Defrag Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Just keep practicing... Read the max tutorials and get a solid grasp of the basics before you ask people what you're doing wrong; there's not much that anyone can say to you other than "learn the basics". Quote
Spellbinder Posted November 13, 2006 Author Report Posted November 13, 2006 about bolean operations? Quote
Rick_D Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Try not to boolean if you can avoid it, I find I spend more time tidying it up afterwards. Check out http://www.iwannamap.com's VTM's - the one one uv mapping in max is really useful. Quote
Defrag Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 about bolean operations? About any and every modeling technique / tool available. Just run through some of the tutorials -- there's loads; look through them and find something that covers the basics of the type of modelling you're interested (likely polygonal). Every technique and way of working is ammo for your arsenal. Quote
OL Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Don't get so down on yourself Spellbinder, you're a good person and if Max can't see that than maybe you shouldn't spend time with him Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Indeed you should date Maya, i heard she's quite hot Quote
Meotwister Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Indeed you should date Maya, i heard she's quite hot I'd do her yeah man it looks like you could utilize a lot more space in your uv map. You have that whole square, make the best of it. Quote
Spellbinder Posted November 14, 2006 Author Report Posted November 14, 2006 Well the space is of lesser consearn at this time since i had to do something wierd anyway for the texture not to fit whatever i do. Quote
skdr Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 The .max file you provided doesnt even include coordinate maps for textures... Quote
Spellbinder Posted November 14, 2006 Author Report Posted November 14, 2006 Ok thx, i guess, i don't know what that means. Quote
BaRRaKID Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Check out http://www.iwannamap.com's VTM's - the one one uv mapping in max is really useful. That's the best thing you could do Quote
