CyanideCotdPnuts Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Well, here's a remake of the HL1 grunt that me and Romka of the hl2world.com forums are doing. Quote
von*ferret Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 your photoshop filter camo is dragging the model down. Quote
Meotwister Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 ferret's got a point there. looking pretty good otherwise. Quote
D3ads Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 What about this one then? That's Romka's too... Quote
CyanideCotdPnuts Posted November 16, 2006 Author Report Posted November 16, 2006 You missed the part where it says that it's a collab? Quote
dissonance Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 shouldn't the knife be facing downwards? Quote
Skjalg Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 This looks very good, my guess is that you're not keeping the same polycount as the old one? Quote
Chunks Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I would use a different camo scheme. The grunts in HL1 were supposedly marines. I would use the woodland camo pattern or the current digi ones. Quote
D3ads Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 You missed the part where it says that it's a collab? No, it looks completely different as if he's working on two source grunts or something! I saw that on HIT, there's no mention of you in there unless you're using a different name and I missed it or something. Anyway, it's good work keep it up. I would use a different camo scheme. The grunts in HL1 were supposedly marines. I would use the woodland camo pattern or the current digi ones. ..in an Urban environment? They would look a bit bloody odd and surely the green camo would stand out like a sore thumb thus defeating the objective of camoflague... Quote
Polaris Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 The grunts in HL1 were fictional hazardous environment marines (hence the gas masks) they wore urban cam obecause your not going to find too much radiation in the woods. Quote
Dodger Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 looks Ok for wip I like more the old modelz Quote
Chunks Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 The grunts in HL1 were fictional hazardous environment marines (hence the gas masks) they wore urban cam obecause your not going to find too much radiation in the woods. I was only suggesting this as the USMC has never officially fielded an urban camouflage pattern, only desert and woodland. Also, most existing NBC gear in the field is still using the woodland scheme. I made this for reference: and here's a pic of a marine in nbc gear: I doubt you are aiming to be 100% realistic, but I thought it may help somehow. Quote
requiem2d Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Keep it up, looking good so far Quote
D3ads Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 This was posted on HIT awhile ago FYI: Quote
