Low Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Here's a venue poster I worked on for a local ska band that I'm good friends with. The idea is venues fill out the date, price, and other bands playing and then hang it up for people to check out. I made it in photoshop of course, took me a few days. The skyline is of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The actual poster size I think is somewhere around 20 by 13 inches, can't quite remember but it's pretty high res; so of course I had to scale it down. Interestingly enough when I scaled it down I made the height 1024 pixels which constrained the width to 666 pixels. Anywho I thought I'd add that little bit of information. If you'd like to check out their music you can hear some on their myspace. Anywho, enjoy and all comments or critiques are welcome. Quote
dissonance Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 looks great, but i thought ska was all pink and green checkerboard patterns? Quote
L4zy Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Nice poster but... we all see that you applied the "cutout"-filter from photoshop. It's not wrong to use this but we as the beholders should not see that you applied the filter... Beware of letting us see what filters you used. Quote
Low Posted October 23, 2006 Author Report Posted October 23, 2006 Decided to make some changes due to request by the band. So I moved the band members into better view and I made them more 'realistic' you could say. Im aware of the text not being aligned right too ... still working on that as well so don't worry Quote
