Mazy Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Already did a couple of weeks ago Not that I think it's needed, seems like there's going to plenty~ Quote
Thrik Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Yeah, with about four million units at launch I think shops will have plenty going. It certainly won't be the camp-all-night bonanza that the PS3 will be with its 400,000 units. Quote
ctswin Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Will get one, near launch if not on launch.. i must order one soon Quote
Furyo Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 After playing various (non final) games on the Wii for the past 4 months now, I'm still undecided on getting it right at launch. Sure there are titles that will pretty much make the purchase worth it all, but I guess I want a solid 20 great titles on it before I'd be purchasing it with my eyes closed. Quote
ReNo Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 20 great titles? I'm assuming you are rarely an early adopter of a system if you wait for that sort of number before committing! Quote
Meotwister Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I said no but thats because I'm broke as hell. Maybe I'll sell a kidney... you only need one right? Quote
Thrik Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 If you enjoy a dramatically shortened lifespan. Quote
ginsengavenger Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 If you enjoy getting wasted off of one beer. Quote
Furyo Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 20 great titles? I'm assuming you are rarely an early adopter of a system if you wait for that sort of number before committing! Never bought a console until this august, the PS2. The PS1 was offered to me for xmas '98, 3 years after the launch and without me asking for it. 20 great titles already were available. 6 years after the release of the PS2, 20 great titles also were available. I have yet to see that number on the Wii, and though I probably won't wait as long as for the PS2 (I was purely a PC FPS player until I discovered some of the console games by working at Ubi), I'm not convinced every game will use the Wii controler to its full extent, especially not at the start of the console, leaving much to be desired having seen tech demos of what it's really capable of. Cybbe Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 So.. Do you like, buy 20 titles the instant you get the console, and play them all at once ? Because in the time I finish the games I have, there usually is something else for me to pick up, if I can even afford it at that point. It doesn't bother me there aren't a lot on launch. You get the cool ones, and wait till you've gone through/grown tired of/can afford more, to buy more. Unless you really are filthy rich and buy a console + 20 games the instant you feel like getting it. In which case I must say: GTFO D: Quote
Furyo Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 No I'll just buy them one after the other, but at least they're really cheap by then, and the fact that they exist makes it easier to dish out the money for the system. At least by then the system has proved successful, as opposed to full of promises. Quote
Mojo Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I thought I might as well. Amazon had it up and I was lucky enough to get one from there. I don't want to stand in lines at stores though with the massive numbers they are talking about I don't think it will be a problem either way. Quote
