Izuno Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Let's hear it from mapcorians in the US about their experience (or probable lack there of) pre-ordering a PS3 at Gamestop/EB. Quote
Dodger Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Ok Izuno first off I don't live in America but whatsoever where I would even live I'd never buy me a ps3. Why? haha that's why.. It costs not much at all, computer cost more.. ps3 isn't that fun and entertaining for me.. and in fact I don't even like ps .. you can play in some different way instead of using the pc but you will not be able to do maps, look prn and get rsf feed from rap sites.. ps3 will never get close to me.. sadly I know. Spellbinder Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I won't vote just yet since you said US citizens. First of i like to ask why? Allthough if i try to use my logical side of my brain i would guess there is some problems in US with this. Anyway i would never buy a console. I could however play on them if i am at a friends house. Maybe if i was really rich and i wouldn't have to care that it is obsolete after a year or two. Quote
Dodger Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Anyway i would never buy a console. Computer is a step closer to the entertainment though. Quote
Mazy Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 They lost me preordering anything when they delayed it. Wont bother doing it for the March launch, not that I think I'll need to anyway. Going to play it fairly casual with the PS3 and just buy it in a random store, especially since theres no launch games on it that interest me at all (Might be some in March though) Quote

I'm ready to bet Izuno's only refering to the european launch being delayed, and therefore currently only open to US customers. With that said, I still voted, and no I'm not interested. Quote

You are correct. As the topic stated...interested in the US pre-order. Any Europeans here are totally welcome to comment, as this is not a scientific poll just want to gauge where people are at now that Sony has put 4 million PS3s out for Pre-order. Er wait...it wasn't 4 million was it? So to Mapcore folk who live in the US, if you really did try or consider pre-ordering, please don't be shy even though we all know we're biased against Sony right now. Any dissenting opionion may shed good light on how the market is feeling. Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 ahah this poll is going excellently Quote
NykO18 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I'm never going to buy any console. * First, because it's expensive; * Second, because my TV screen is smaller than my computer's one. * Third, because I hate playing with a gamepad (and gamepads aren't physicaly compatible with the games I like). * Fourth, because console games are like 60-70€ each, and computer's ones drop around 30-40€ after a month or two (for the majority).. * Fifth, because I don't want an equipment to play, an equipment to watch tv, an equipment to work, an equipment to go to the internet, an equipment to listen music, and so on. I want all the services in the same thing (let's call it a computer XD). * Sixth, because I'm not rich enough to afford a computer plus a console (+ a car, + an appartment, + the amazing price of gasoline, etc.) Quote

Polaris Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I may pick up a wii if it doesnt bomb, wich would make it my first console in a over a decade. I have no interest at all in the ps3. Maybe if the price had been lower since some of the things that came out on ps2 were pretty tempting :S Quote
Erratic Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Not really interested. Going to pick up a Wii next month and maybe a 360 some time further down the road when Halo 3 is out and maybe sooner if Gears of War is tempting enough. No games I've seen yet have really interested me. Graphically it looks good but far from whatever the hell they were showing a year and a half ago Quote
Meotwister Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Yeah I'm goin towards the Wii with a chance of 360 later on and no sign yet of PS3 on the horizon. Quote
Fletch Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Shitty console Shitty price I was one of the lucky few that got a Wii pre-order off of Amazon, so I'm set. Quote
