OK, disabling the VoIP worked quite well.

I played it for one or two hours yesterday and I found it somewhat cool.

But that's all, it's cool for one or two hours and after, it starts to be really (really) boring.

Also, there's almost no teamplay at all.. when a new game starts, everyone take a vehicule and run away alone. I wonder if they know that some vehicules can carry up to 8 people.

It's like that in all BF games. They promoted teamplay a little more in BF2, where infantry actually had alot to say.

But in bf21 its all about getting the best vehicle and going solo.. (except if you have a vehicle with two spots like the walkers, then its okay to have one with you:P)

I'd really love to play with someone tho, maybe get a little teamwork in there...

Reminds me of the bf1942 demo, everyone would always just take the tank or the aircraft and go off on their own. The worst part was seeing them camp the airfield. If someone beat them to a plane they would actually destroy it as it tried to take off. And when they eventually got a plane, they would crash right away because they didn't know how to fly it :?

Yeah BF2 is exactly like that, too... It amazes me that developers don't come up with solutions to some of these problems. For example: In BF2 various people will stand in front of a plane if you beat them to it, meaning you have to teamkill them with the plane when taking off. You lose points and can be banned. I once ended a round on something like -8 points even though I killed about 20 enemies and it was all down to a couple of dickheads standing in front of the plane as I took off. This happened about five times in a round (me running over both of them and losing eight points each time). On most servers the TK limit is 3 or 4 before you get banned, so the clown only has to die three times to get the plane.

However, there is pretty much ZERO chance of teamkilling someone in a moving plane without the other person being at fault. It begs the question: Why don't they just disable TKs for being struck by a plane? It doesn't make any sense and would eliminate a lot of the problems you see. I didn't start flying planes a lot until a few months back (I'm a chopper whore) and until then i didn't realise just how goddamn annoying some people are. Developers need to sort out these issues as it's often the small things that are the most annoying.

I'd really love that too, but that's kinda hard to find like 20 or 30 people able to play as a team at this game and at the same moment..

Played it again this afternoon and I'm starting to see more high points in the gameplay. When you have even teams and you've got both ships without shields and defending against each other, it is really fun. I was railing transports out of the sky defending my base to much glee.

I think the mian problems with the demo are 1) the given weapons and classes suck balls and 2) people aren't playing the game as much as they are playing wtih the new vehicles. Also, the lack of lan support for the demo is fairly unacceptible.

Once all the weapons are unlocked and people get used to the vehicles, it should be a good time to play. Being unable to heal people as a medic, carry grenades, or have any sort of defense against vehicles just makes the game sucky right now. I'll probably still buy it just so I can special ops the hell out of everything.

"In the latest CGW podcast, they received retail boxed copies of BF 2142.

When you open the box, a big slip of paper falls out first, preceeding any discs or manuals. The slip of paper says, essentially, that 2142 includes monitoring software which runs while your computer is online, and records "anonymous" information like your IP address, surfing habits (probably via cookie scans), and other "computing habits" in order to report this information back to ad companies and ad servers, which generates in-game ads.

Now, I can live with certain in-game ads (though apparently there will be Dodge truck and Neon ads in the bleak, futuristic world of 2142), but including a lengthy description - outside of even the Eula - seems to indicate even EA knows that this is some shady borderline spyware shit. I don't support it and won't be buying 2142 (for a host of other reasons, too)."

I think "FUCK OFF!" is a good response to that!

Having been following the media more carefully, Quake Wars is looking like the more appealing of the two. I don't know if you guys have seen the videos on gametrailers.com, but the engineer deploys buildings in an RTS-like fashion and everything. It looked really good, while BF2142 looks a bit too much like Battlefield 2.

I guess I'll see since I'll inevitable get both anyway.
