zaphod Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 A 170 meg video has been released showcasing new features in Epic's upcoming Unreal game engine. This is similar to the shaky cam video released from GDC, but it's at 640x480 resolution, making all the pretty effects even more drool-worthy. You can get it from cgchannel.com.
-Stratesiz- Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 oh my... I liked your previous avatar better though
Mazy Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 lol, zaphod cant say anything without people commenting his avatar ;D anyway, good stuff, Ive just seen that movie too much already D: (in crappy quality tho)
zaphod Posted July 23, 2004 Author Report Posted July 23, 2004 It's actually a different presentation, although it shows a lot of the same scenes, there are a few things I dont remember seeing on the other one, and the guy doing the voice over gives some new technical tidbits on how some things are done.
Minos Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Im gonna dl it after the animatrix dvd-rip =D~~
Taylor Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 You can buy the animatrix for £5 you cheap git.
Pericolos0 Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 lol doing an unreal3 map will take forever
JynxDaddy Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 yeh I was thinking about that peri. Think about how long it takes some people to make half life maps.... days.. weeks. months D: even longer with these staticy games. onoes unreal 3 make my brain fry!
Pericolos0 Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 dunno jynx, i find working with statics being fast compared to brushes. I mean the tools and techniques are evolving and were able to create hi poly stuff so much faster now but still, having to make normal maps for all those bricks, modelling both a low and hi poly version :s.. it gets compilcaaated
st0lve Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Um, I saw this like many months ago Same res and all! I r must h4x time.
Mazy Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 ive seen the exact same one before too but still, good stuff
