JAL Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Just got back to Finland (home) yesterday from Japan. I was travelling around Japan for a month with my buddy. We went to a lot of places in the west and southwest Japan, including Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Koyasan, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Mt. Fuji. I had an awesome time in Japan and I'm prolly going there again next summer, got to know a lot of people and experience the culture. The last week in Tokyo was party 24/7 . So yeah, here's some of the photos I took during the trip. I used a Canon PowerShot A620 , 7.1 mp. (Re-sized the photos) One of the few buildings to survive the Hiroshima A-bomb. a close-up of the same building. Wild deer in the National Park in the city of Nara. near the Tokyo Imperial Palace a garden in Kyoto. old "graves" and monuments in Koyasan. a view from the hills in Nara. a Japanese ww2 fighter-aircraft (zero?) in the war museum in Tokyo. a photo of Amsterdam airport. Would have made an awesome photo but the reflection from the window kind of fucked it up. and finally it's me in Tokyo Disneyland, don't tell me I'm too old, cuz I really enjoyed it. (I'm 19) For more photos click HERE Quote
e-freak Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 One of the few buildings to survive the Hiroshima A-bomb. It is the only building - or better - it's the only one still standing. It is there as a memory monument - the second mem point is the glasboxes with the paper things in it... nice pictures none the less. i hope you don't take tokyo as classical japanese culture ^^ The cam is a sexy beast as well Quote
skdr Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I want to go there too, someday. Cool photos! How much did you spend money on that trip? Quote
JAL Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 I spent around 2000 euros (not including the flights, since I got them as a graduation gift). Japan was suprisingly cheap. The most money I spent on a hostel was 28 e / night. The most money I spent on a meal was 7 euros. You can get a nice dormitory bed for 15 euros and a bowl of ramen for 2e. Almost everything I encountered was cheaper than it's counter-part in Finland. Quote
teeluu Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I didn't know you were in Japan Anyway, looks superb, gotta get there someday if i can afford it, 2000e, huh. The mood in 3rd, 4th and 5th shot feels so lovely after the autumn in finland. Quote
