twiz Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 I've been meaning to take some after-storm pics for a while now, finally got around to doing it a couple days ago. Just walking around my house taking random pictures my crappy camera(digital elph....) I got a few ones that I consider good. Most of the not-good ones I blame on the camera.. the subject is good, just didn't photo well. Here is my favorite. This is a shot of my brother's '78 bronco. Don't know why its my favorite, I just like it. I like the water on the aluminum grille, I like the not-quite-closed hood, I like how the sky's blue gray looks against the truck's blue.. I like the contrasting orange, I like the curve of the trim on the fender flare. I just like it. I think its probably one of the best pictures I've taken. No color adjustment, no cropping, this is exactly what I took off the camera, scaled down with a black border around it: Okay, sit back 5 or 6 feet from your monitor so you don't notice the shitty quality, and this looks like a good picture.. This one I did tweak a bit, I bumped the hue and saturation a touch :embarassed: Its also cropped. This is why I've been wanting to take an after-storm pic Completely un-altered, just scaled and added a border! Wish I had a good camera.... contrast jacked up to make this look like something other than gray.... Theres a dozen more out of focus pictures... I'll leave those out Quote
Vinny Testaverde Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 The last two are nice! The first 3 not so much... the compositon sorta lacks, theres nothing intresting in them imo. i'd say keep doing more stuff like the last two Quote
dissonance Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 i really dig the sky on the third one. Quote
Spellbinder Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 First picture i liked a lot. Gives you a sence of perspective. Second is also awsome for me. Those white flowers as a bed to lay down on. The the roots almost not visible but they are there.Third one is like the trees is reaching each other against the sky. Awsome staged . The 4th i didnt like that much. Its a nice flower and a nice composing and all but its a bit blurry. Maybe you have a camera that can do just so much as i have? Last picture also awsome. Its darkness.core, those dark rocks and that luring but yet dangerous mushroom. Over all great stuff! GJ! Quote
