Tequila Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 'Skidder' is how I always pronounce it in my mind. Now, for my name, right, I had a poo, right, and it was shaped like a bottle of Tequila, right, so I thought, right, there's the internet, right, and people use names, right, so why not, right, use that, right, as my name? Right? No, I just love Hard Boiled. Quote
st0lve Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 st0lve is miss-spelled støvel, which is a boot. Quote
TomWithTheWeather Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I first heard mine in the Tool song "Third Eye". It's from an audio clip of the comedian Bill Hicks doing a joke about tripping on acid. Quote
Duff-e Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I got tired of using the name "duffy" in counterstrike and wanted to spice it up a bit. Looked at the periodic table of elements....chose actinium...changed the a to an o and behold octinium. I still use that name in game to this day...even though almost none of you know me by it cause I was always on IRC as duffy. the anti-cheat I wrote was also called octinium....google it bishes..like a hot 20 pages of an original word I created. Makes you feel special Quote

KungFuSquirrel Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Once back in my CS day I had the need for a martial arts furry critter so I started shifting around between: KungFuSquirrel, JudoMeerkat, KarateKangaroo, TaeKwonDoKitty, and the likes. It was all for the sake of being ridiculous, but KungFuSquirrel had a nice ring to it. Also may have been slightly instrumental in eventually leading me down the path that got me a job - Ken has rather spitefully declared that if I had shown up in the NS community as "KarateKangaroo" he probably would have never spoken to me, thus no friendship, and no referral up here Prior to that I'd played as Gimper and then TacticalMoron (easily read as "TacticalMormon"). I also played Quake1 under the odd name of "Flitter." I don't know how I came up with that, but it's probably best I never repeated that process. Ew. Quote
Skjalg Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 its my real name, as many of you know... Got tired of using silly nicks when nothing I ever could invent would be as unique as my real name Quote
Fletch Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 The first time I was playing a game online (Interstate 76), it asked me for a nickname. I didn't have one. I was listening to the radio and a local DJ was named Fletch. Quote
