Sindwiller
Hi everyone! Today, i readed an article in "Facts" about a game called Peacemaker. Yes, dumb name but the game sounds pretty cool (for me). In this game, you can be either the israel prime minister (Ehud Olmert *barf*) or the president of palestine president (Mahmud Abbas). The minor of that game is to make peace between both sides. For example, some terrorist guys let some bombs explode in West-Jerusalem. What you gonna do? Use some cruise-missiles or start a diplomatic dialog? (Olmert wouldnt do the second thing in reality... ) Official Site Wfr, Sindwiller PS. Minos, look: Or translated: "As the newest genre-hit counts "Insurgency", a Ego-Shooter who plays in Bagdad"
Meotwister
sounds like capitalizing off real world events. I wouldnt count on it being very good. That type of gameplay reminds me of the CSI game where you were a CSI investigating and it pretty much sucked. This being a different theme with a kotor mix of 'choices' doesnt sound very promising to me. imo
Sindwiller
Well, the content seems to be very interesting (uhm, what is more interesting than the near east conflict? imho) I cant say much about the gameplay. I didnt played it Sometimes, journalists write crap when it is about computers or videogames. In that area, medial influence through companys (Microsoft...) is higher than in other parts (ever heard of a journalist who was kicked in the ass because he revealed some swissfirst stuff? nope) or in the politics generally (only sometimes though). Zacker
The small danish game studio Serious Games is making a game called Global Conflicts: Palestine, which is in the same style. Check it out here: http://www.seriousgames.dk/gc.html
Sindwiller
I cant say much about it, because there is no good description or some screenshots. The intro video is very low detailed too. Doesnt seem to be the same style, maybe just same content (the conflict Palestine-Isreal) but the game itself looks to me like a intelligence services controle-game (what name). Meotwister
The last middle eastern game I remember was a PS2 game where it was an fps all the way till the end where you fight the final boss, Osama Bin Laden, and then it becomes like a fighting game with the health bars on top and everything. It just really sucked is what I'm getting at. True I know nothing about this game and maybe this is where the crappy middle eastern confict games go decent, but until further observations I'm skeptical at best.
