dcraver Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 hey, i am working on my first map for css in hammer and when i make spawn point entities, and compile and test the map, it tells me that both teams are full. i was wondering if i was over looking a step. i have around 20 something spawn points for both player, too. it makes the hostages and weapons as well and i was wondering what i was over looking so i could test this map. thanks, dylan
hessi Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 your spawnpoints are stuck to the ground or other brushes (like walls). give them some more space around.
Minos Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 your spawnpoints are stuck to the ground or other brushes (like walls). give them some more space around. I don't think so, when spawnpoints are stuck to another brushes the player just dies when he spawns. Maybe you are using the wrong entities ? Take a look at this if you haven't yet: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki ... S_entities

Maybe you are using the wrong entities ? no. they changed that with source. you wont be able to spawn there.

Also, I have the spawn points on the floor, are they supposed to be in the air? Thanks again, Dylan.
Polaris Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 They should be a bit above the ground. Not sure what the accepted norm in grid units is if there is one :\
insta Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 They can be up to a million kadjillion units up in the air, since you'll spawn on the ground anyways.
skdr Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 They can be up to a million kadjillion units up in the air, since you'll spawn on the ground anyways. That's not true imo. If you place the spawnpoints in the air the player drops from that point to ground.

dcraver Posted July 16, 2006 Author Report Posted July 16, 2006 they are up in the air but for some reason i am still having problems.
Cur Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Not too sure why, I mean the addition of spawns is fairly basic. Post a screenshot, or if you wanted your .vtf file of the map you're creating. It's just simply adding the info_player_terrorist/counter entity.
dcraver Posted July 16, 2006 Author Report Posted July 16, 2006 Well, is there some other entities I am missing? Because they are the only entities I have. I just wanted to test the map as far as I had gotten. I don't know. I'll mess around with it and post the file and some screenys. EDIT: Fixed it
twiz Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 I had the same problem when I only had a single CT and T spawn. I added a few more and the problem went away. I dunno if I messed up those first two spawns, or if it just requires you to have more than one spawn per team? How'd you fix your problem?
