Guest The_Postman Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 Ah, so this has been a long time coming. Long story short I went to Ireland on June 1st, saw Morrissey play live at Dublin Castle on the 5th, and went home on the 7th. This is a photographic journal of that trip! I hope you enjoy what my €5 camera took along the trip! So let's begin, shall we? Ah Dublin, right along lower Rathmines outside my hotel at around 6pm, I've just woken up! Go jetlag go! Walking on down Camden street we come across Morrissey's butchers. Ho ho ho, Meat is Murder indeed! At around 7pm there were already a suprisingly large amount of homeless drunks around, like this charming old fellow who was dancing with an unseen mistress and gargling the words to some old song. Later on he puked on the corner. I failed to get a picture and for this I am eternally shamed. Door to door homeless service is available in Dublin for a mere €10! Get yours today! Ah! I'm famished! Let's go to a local eatery and gorge ourselves in a stereotypical American fashion shall we? I think we'll skip this place though, I don't want to know what they serve. Goatse anybody? Well, now this is Dublin Castle, the church on premises to be exact. In the background I can hear Moz's band practicing "First of the Gang to Die" and soon the show will be on, awesome! But first I had to sit through these monumental faggots playing a bunch of whiny pseudo-celtic rock. Fuck them, they were on for way too long and the lead singer sucked ass. Their redheaded guitarist chick wasn't even hot. Fuck them. Shit-band finally! leaves and the banner over the huge light-up Morrissey sign falls! The man himself saunters on out! I am subsequently crushed against the people in front of me by sweaty fat goth chicks in shitty makeup rushing the stage, but it's okay, Morrissey is there! Yay Morrissey! And an evening full of good music begins. Moz launches into Irish Blood, English Heart. Morrissey then comes out to tell us that Ronald "Communism Sux" Reagan is dead. Oh my and he wishes that it was Bush in his stead! http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/eo/20040610/en_music_eo/14287 The crowd goes wild and cheers, the news left that little detail out. The night ends with the usual encore playing of "There is a Light That Never Goes Out." I wander home through the dark Dublin night. My feet are killing me from standing some 9 hours in line and at the concert. All in all, a great show, and Dublin is a lovely city. Quote

FrieChamp Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 Heh that was a fun read Posty. "Irish Blood, English Heart" is the only song I know by Morrissey but you must really like that band if you fly to Ireland for that one show. Oh well, you also saw Dublin. Quote
