mabufo Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 2-2 Eng-Swe. I think Sweden was a bit better but thats hard to say of course. If you ask CrazyMac he probably says the opposit. England wins their group, but Sweden advance at least. Good game, Sweden had lots of cloose calls. I think somewhere around 11 corners. I'll be sure and watch the highlights. Quote
The Postman Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 America has been eliminated! Spanked by fucking GHANA. Quote
Ginger Lord Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Never thought I'd see the day the US got owned by a third world country Quote
Mojo Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 they played a crappy first half and only started to play during the final minutes of the first half. If only they carried the intensity from the Italy game over, they might have done better. Quote
Spellbinder Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Never thought I'd see the day the US got owned by a third world country Cmone grow up. And that apply's to you all! There is no third country, but now im getting into politics and i shouldn't here. But that remarc makes me . Knowledge is everywhere, and some have more then others. So Ghana knows more about Soccer/Football then US!? Well i guess US knows more about other things. Aswell as Muslims knows more about a third thing and Swedish knows more about a 4:th thing! So pls restrain you self about that Third country crap k?. Anyway, i'm sorry US fellows, but you haven't been in this sport that long yet. I bet IF it grows in popularity you going to scrap up some good teams and give the rest of the world a good match. But as it is today, there isn't enough interest in Football/Soccer in US. Next Swe-Germany!!! Scary, but i think we got a chance! Also Eng-Ecuador should be interesting. Not that Ecuador should have a chance, but if they got this far then maybe, you never know!? Finally im sorry for the rant/troll but pls keep that kinf of remarks out of the thread k? Quote
Spellbinder Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Ok im sorry but sometimes you know :/ I get a bit agitated and i loose it. I know you where kidding but sometimes its just to much you know!? Thats why i said restrain. In EOT i wouldn't give a damn! Quote
mabufo Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 I wasn't suprised at all. It seems the American team just can't handle pressure of any kind. Quote
von*ferret Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 We will whoop you in American Football or Basketball any day but no honestly, soccer/football should really be bigger in the US. I love the game. Quote
Fletch Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 We will whoop you in American Football or Basketball any day but no honestly, soccer/football should really be bigger in the US. I love the game. Actually, we've gotten our asses handed to us in world basketball for the last 5 years because we don't understand how to play team basketball. We just throw together an all-star team, let them practice together for a few weeks, and send them off. Most of the top stars won't play for the team because they don't want to risk injury. The ones that do play don't play as physically as they normally would for the same reason. Meanwhile, all of Europe has started to field national teams that play together for months and years and have a very solid team dynamic. Our team members aren't used to playing with each other and don't understand how certain players post up or like to have a bounce passed delivered in the lane, so it's just sloppy play. Hence, we've gotten bounced from the Olympics, World Games, and Pan-Am Games. It's much the same reason we get our ass handed to us in world baseball. But American football we can still kick butt in. The CFL and NFL-Europe consist of our farm league players that can't hack it in the real NFL. Plus, American football is the one game that you can simply win by being bigger and stronger than the other team. You can still have shitty passing and running as long as you're manhandling the other guys. Quote
Minos Posted June 23, 2006 Author Report Posted June 23, 2006 Did you guys see the Brazil game today ? Now that was cool. There's still a long way to go but I think that we played a lot better in this game. Too bad Ronaldinho isn't playing all he can in this WC Quote
Fletch Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 I'm pissed off I missed the Brazil match. Hopefully I'll find a torrent of it. Quote
FrieChamp Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 Tomorrow the real drama begins, can't wait Quote
