Section_Ei8ht Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 This probably wont pass, though. Pretty much every slashdotter/digger has protested against it to the house, and im sure Microsoft and Google are gonna use their bought and paid for politicians to make sure this doesnt go anywhere. Hell, even if it did, who in their right mind would implement it? A file is cached a shitload of times between the webserver and the client browser, so goodbye streaming sites, and i dont think amazon, google, youtube, aol, yahoo, etc would want to pay for 20 licenses for the same file just so they can stream it to potential customers. And ISP's would have to fork over another high sum for simply delivering the content to you, seeing as how the streamed file would have to be cached on their servers as well, just so it can be streamed from the webpage to you. It is my conclusion that everyone on the MPAA/RIAA board of directors is insane. Their business model is crumbling, and this is all part of their last ditch effort to halt innovation simply because control is slipping away from them with every passing day. The **AAs need to die horrible, bankrupt deaths.
