Ginger Lord Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Well we've been using Cinema4D at Uni so far, something easy to get everyone into the style of modelling. But now, XSI time. In years 2 and 3 you use XSI and so at the end of year 1 we get a little taster. Last week we had a 3 hour lesson just learning the basics, basically made a blob man with legs and did a walk cycle. This week we concentrated on modelling and just did a quick 5 mins of HDR texturing on it to make it shiny...and so I present an extremely shitty lamp. No idea how to do proper texturing yet, that comes next week so all my lovely work modelling the screw thread and fillament in the bulb is put to no good. Well, its a start anyway. Quote
General Vivi Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 hey now that looks pretty cool good job Quote
von*ferret Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 It looks cool, but honestly the wood table is bringing down the render. Its obviously a flat plane with little thought into specularity or normal mapped/extra geometry. Add to a proper base and you'd have a proper render Other than that its pretty swank! Quote
