Polaris Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Plus the fact youre just a amature leveldesigner, not a big developementstudio. Hot Coffee? But regardless a school isn't a big deal, as long as you don't include any students to shoot. Any game, mod, map or whatever allowing you to off children is completely crossing the line. Quote
MJ Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 my high school where I went to would be a great cs map. It was open campus (outside), many catwalks, upper and lower tiers, opened etc etc. They build it in the freakin desert for god sakes. Quote
dissonance Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Making maps of schools is a bad idea, regardless of weather or not you include anyone to shoot. I was nearly arrested for making one. Quote

sk3tch Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 Looks like you have alot of brushwork done. Great job...but also keep in mind you may have to have some rooms blocked off or "for display only" so the player don't get confused. Quote
crispyX Posted May 25, 2006 Author Report Posted May 25, 2006 Great job...but also keep in mind you may have to have some rooms blocked off or "for display only" so the player don't get confused. yep, that's already in my plans. updated with in-game screen see first post and btw, i live in america. So all this stuff about making schools is ok doesn't count here i assume? :s Quote
teeluu Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 In-game shot looks colourless, so gray. It's a wip of course tho. Since this is a school and there's lot of interiors, i believe you can use LOT polys for details. For the broken floor i'd suggest using displacement map or model it if possible. Keep it going Quote
Zacker Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Rule one when making school maps is not to make them exactly as it is IRL. If you do it will ruin the gameplay and fps and none will care how exact a replica it is anyways. Quote

Gameplay can also be good, you'll never know. Compromises has to be done of course. Quote
