Pericolos0 Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 this was pretty much the best thing i ever witnessed on tv Quote
Gaz Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 Eurovisions never about the music, only which smaller countries like each other compared to the others. They all group together, regardless of the music. Quote
WD Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 and I was pretty sure that this would never going to happen Quote

Got it in one, still nice to see them win it I suppose, even if they wouldn't stand a chance if it was based on the music, not that Lordi are that bad or anything. Quote

Fletch Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 what the fuck is a eurovision? and as a self-center american, why should i give a damn? Quote
ReNo Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 You really, really shouldn't Eurovision is a "music" contest held every year, in which each country enters a song. Each country then has a phone in where the public can vote for their favourite songs. The top 5 voted songs for each country are then assigned points, and so by the end of the night you have a winner. Unfortunately some of the smaller countries seem to think it is prestigious, diplomatic, and important that themselves or their neighbours win, so they all vote for one another. And the UK usually ends up without getting any points. Quote
Thrik Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 The UK also incidentally treats it like one big satire, unlike certain others as I understand, and one of the most wittily insulting commentators ever deals with it every year, picking on everything from the presenters' clothing to the singing of the groups. Most amusing! Quote
Phatsniper Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 NIL PWAH! The voting is the only good part, sooo makes up for sitting through 2 hours of horrendous music. Quote
Zyn Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 And if you'd like to watch the video for Hardrock Hallelujah ... well .. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 01&q=Lordi Seeems to be recorded in one evening or something Quote
Phatsniper Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Whoa a rock song won? Look's like the days of Abba are truly gone. Perhaps we should enter Iron Maiden next year? Quote
