BMS is making the surroundings much more interesting than they are in HL1, and I love it, since the engine didn't allow Valve to go all out on details. While it's far from the original, you as the player still follows the same linear path as back in HL1.

Who cares if they're making the areas different? It's pointless making a by-the-numbers remake of HL, we've already got one.. why do we need another? At least BM: Source is doing something that recreates the HL content...

...whereas HLDM: source is the most pointless creation since HLSP: source. 'Oh look it's exactly the same as HL1 but it has fancy shader water and some other small stuff from the newer engine!' *yawn*

stop complaining guys :). Be happy that hl1dm lives on as we knew it... but now with all possibilities from the source engine to be used by mappers and playerskin modellers. I'm happy valve didnt completely upgrade the maps and models, people would just complain like they do with dod:source.
