Interesting. If Gearbox can capture the feeling of that firefight, then it'll be a winner. Quote
cdxx Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I know this is lame but I wanted to do a heat mod when i first learned about the sdk. i sure hope they pull it off. i loved that movie Quote
ReNo Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I love the movie, its one of my all time favourites, but I'm a bit worried about this... Quote
Fletch Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 I love the movie, its one of my all time favourites, but I'm a bit worried about this... Don't worry, Mikey promised there would be robots. And vampires. And Cuba Gooding Jr. Actually, it's really just Cuba Gooding Jr turned into a robotic vampire. Quote
RD Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Its about time someone tried to make a game of it. It has the best firefight in history. Gearbox better take it serious and get it right Quote
mabufo Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Ronin would make a better game if you ask me. Quote
Izuno Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 I loved Heat. Besides the firefight scene, what I remember most was when the Pacino and Diniro meet in the diner early on. That made the movie. Quote
Furyo Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 I loved Heat. Besides the firefight scene, what I remember most was when the Pacino and Diniro meet in the diner early on. That made the movie. Definitely one of the best duo scene in the history of action movies/thrillers Quote
Izuno Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Definitely one of the best duo scene in the history of action movies/thrillers And as a fan of the movie, I would love to see the game somehow capture that same intensity of the characters...as well as the "tragic feeling" of the entire movie. Everybody in that film sort of self distructs themselves or their relationships. As an action/heist movie, that element took it to a higher level. Further, that same character intensity and "tragic" flavor was very much delivered in the famous LA street shootout, hence why so many people really liked it. That said, I think a big challenge and opportunity for Gearbox is to find a way to deliver that same character and story element in the game, if possible. Quote
D3ads Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Excellent film, sceptical about the game though... Quote
