Steppenwolf Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 I work on this currently. It's my own head. I can recognize me so i assume it is not too bad for a first try in organic/character modeling. I need crits and comments on that. Also links to good tutorials for unwrapping and skinning would be appreciated. I also need to know how to apply hair and beard in 3dsmax 7 on this model. I want to make it as realistic as possible. Quote
von*ferret Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 get max 8 and utilize their hair tools. I think your eyes look a little sharp. But to give good feed back we'd need to see wireframes and a picture of your face. Geometry looks pretty nice. if its all in quads i'd suggest throwing it into zbrush to sculpt fine details for an effecient normal map. Quote

However i had the biggest problems with that yet. A lack of experience i assume. I'm sure i will improove that skill in the future when i have more experience in modeling organics. The two sides of the face arn't stitched together yet. I will work on modeling assymetries later. Quote
Minos Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 cool shit stepp! you getting really good at modelling, keep it up. Quote
CyanideCotdPnuts Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Good God that topology makes me want to cry. Here, try and follow this edgelooping (not as complex, but the basics are lined in blue) It would just help things flow better if you fixed the tpology, but from the looks it would require starting anew, so, I guess it's ok for a first try. Defrag Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 I had some good head modeling tutorials saved, but I can't remember the URLs now Here's a not-very-detailed one. http://ambient-whisper.cgcommunity.com/ ... age-3.html Quote
nico Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 the next time you take pictures of yourself, try to draw with a pen (or something that comes off a bit more easily with water) some points/lines on your face, will make modelling go much more smooth Quote
