cdxx Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 I loved the 1st, never really got into the 2nd. and that certainly was a cool teaser... Quote
Belgarion Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 I was less than impressed by it. I found it rather borring in fact. Quote
GrayFox Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Saw the trailer....totally awesome! Best trailer I've seen so far this year, but I didnt get to see much of Microsofts conference so hmmh ~ Really? I was 10 times more impressed with the MGS4 trailer even though they didn't show anything jawdropping. Quote
csharp Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Just watched the trailer.. i think that its more like game engine trailer.. it just shows what it can do, it doesnt tell much about halo 3 :S Quote
Mazy Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 The Halo 3 and MGS4 trailers are pretty much next to each other yeah, but Halo's did have a much cooler cinematic scope. Regarding it not being ingame, yeah it sucks, but I've come to terms with the fact that the game trailers of E3 are now more about the feel and style of the game, rather than it actually being ingame stuff (Although the actually impressive ones are obviously the ones where you can see its the ingame graphics, just in a cutscene form) Yadayadayada Quote
spartan Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 the music, THE MUSIC!!! oh, it's real time footage (^_^)' http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3story.html ... pid=926632 Quote
Mazy Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Yeah I know, was just refering to the fact that it isnt being played, but I probably made it sound the other way around, or something Quote
Pericolos0 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 i never finished the 2nd halo, hope this wont be a problem to pick up this one though. I'm not going in the halo2 singleplayer again.. that game bored the shit out of me and seeing rooms decorated with thesame tiling texture on roofs, walls, floors and stairs was painful. but im exited for this one BIG MACHINES AND A VORTEX!!!! Polaris Posted May 10, 2006 Author Report Posted May 10, 2006 c) have a ridiculously unbalanced laser sword in DM play To be fair, it can be turned off. Its really no different then instagib weapons in other games. Infact it reminds me of the one hit kill bashes in CoD. Wich are hard to pull off without getting a face full of smg rounds. Quote
mabufo Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 A hard difficulty level doesn't make a game good. So I think there is a flaw in your logic. Well, if at a higher difficulty level the AI reacts differently and is self perserving and challenges you even further then...Yes, it does improve a game. It's just that generally games opt for simply increasing hit points/accuracy on enemies. I call bullshit on the ai reacting differently. I didn't notice any sort of change in the AI when I played it on the hard game mode. AI doesn't make a game either. My vote goes to the story on that one. Halo, of course - loses out on that one. Why? It was boring, bland, and generally unappealing. Quote
Izuno Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Halo is a MASS MARKET brand now. It's positioned as "the everything shooter to all console gamers: hardcore, casual shooter gamer or inbetween." I'm sure it will be an amazing PRODUCT. As for a GAME...my expectations are lower. Damn...we hate everything...why are we so jaded? Quote
ReNo Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 While Halo's story may not have made a bestselling book, it is vastly more refined than most action games. Fair enough if you don't like Halo, but if you didn't like it due to its story being "boring, bland, and generally unappealing", I can't think of that many action games you would like. Quote
