ReNo 1 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 In places, this reminds me a lot of the mansion in Gears of War. My compliments I agree with the comment that there is a whole lotta brown in there though, leading to a rather monotonous look, particularly in places like... Also, you've got some very inconsistent texture scales, such as on the wooden floor here...
freakadelle 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 I had to take those screenshots on my laptop running at texturequality:medium. of course that has nothing to do with the scale but at highquality the textures are much sharper so you want realize it ingame. the brown thing: yes, I know about that and I tried to add some contrast with carpets and curtains. I think I have to add some more color. I already got some ideas
Sa74n 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 for a source engine map the texture res seems very low. i wonder what kind of budget you set yourself for it. and i agree on the monotone look. i think you can do A LOT more with proper light. its the weakest point in your map. and maybe you should consider using some more different materials and colors. make it easy for players to navigate the map. aside from that it looks pretty awesome

Dude, read what he says before posting, he' took the screenshots at medium quality on his laptop- hence the low texture quality! Looks fantastic, with Reno's comment you know you're onto something good when someone compares your work with GOW, keep it up!
