Kedhrin Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 My portfolio has been dumped on again. Currently working on a SP Quake 4 map and MP UT2004 DM map. Wish I had time to create a new asset/texture library but I need to make these quickly. Quake 4 SP mapping = best sp mapping I have ever done... REALLY fun. http://www.kedhrin.com Quote
Spellbinder Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 Nice! I like the dark theme and that rust stripes or what to call it thats is in the first picture. But above all i really like to see that you have been busy working One question though (no one can escape the one question) why when i click the image to enter the site ends up on 3DWork? Since it is the second link above i assume it is the second page sort of. So maybe a start page for news or perhaps the Bio or something? Spellbinder. Quote
Kedhrin Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 a few industry friends and some coworkers suggested that 3D work be the first page that pops up. this is so potential employers can start seeing your work the moment they open your page. when i send my portfolio out i skip the intro logo page usually. i'd prefer it to go to bio... but... portfolios are about impressions for work. the impression they get from you as a person needs to be delivered in an interview. Phatsniper Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 Well it's a portfolio so you want to see his work first, after all it's the most important thing. Cool stuff mate, keep it up Quote
Spellbinder Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 True Kedhrin. Maybe switch the links above then? Bah i dunno its just how my brain works. First page has the first link. But most importent is how you feel about it. Spellbinder. Quote

Section_Ei8ht Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 why would you put a fixed size iframe on a page that's larger than the average user screen height? It's quite annoying to have two different scroll bars when one of them is useless. Quote

It's quite annoying to have two different scroll bars when one of them is useless. i've honestly been searching and pulling my hair out over this. i want it to create a new 'image window'. so it opens a new window, but every time you click an image on the main page it sends to that window only (not constantly creating new windows). i don't even know google keywords to search for.... i'm a complete noob to html. The Postman Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 why are there so many damned neon lights in a post apocalyptic world Quote

Make me a new window! This will use the users default "restored" window state, to have a fixed dimension window you'll have to delve into javascript. Quote
Kedhrin Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 why are there so many damned neon lights in a post apocalyptic world those shots are mostly inside the vaults where the lights are. it's also the human factions trade mark. i recommend reading the fiction behind it, it makes sense then. basically, the way i look at is... say you are a biomek.... no glowly blue in biomek world... so if you see something blue and glowy you immediately know it's the hestia corp. so, if it's one glowly blue thing... you can follow it and possibly destroy it.. if it's a massive structure of blue glowy stuff... i recommend stopping, turning around, and leaving thanks for the html help! and rd, i dunno i don't know where else i'd put it? Kedhrin Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 oh and yeah, if you notice most of the 'blue glowy' shots where taken by the press... for some reason they really like it. i just got whatever press shots i could of my work and put it up there. i only took like 1 shot of a a human town of my own screenies.... i prefer the post apoco scenes more. such as http://peeves.noobgrinder.com/pt_pic_aa_12.jpg and http://peeves.noobgrinder.com/pt_pic_aa_14.jpg Quote
