Digital Artist Management is currently assisting a high profile Los Angeles game development studio in their search for a solid designer for a new original Action Adventure franchise for the next generation consoles. This group already employs a solid design staff, but they are looking for a few more additions to ensure it remains second to none.

This Los Angeles developer is located in a prime metropolitan area. They are committed to supplying its team with the best resources available as well as providing excellent salaries, bonuses, benefits and relocation assistance (if necessary).

This designer will play a significant role in executing the vision of this next generation IP.

DESIGNER (LEAD LEVEL)

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Must have 3 years of industry level design experience using world-building tools and/or 3DStudioMax or Maya.

• Ability to direct, supervise, and mentor a team of Level Designers

• Collaborating with Lead Designer and Design team to define and refine game-play mechanics.

• Ability to produce articulate design documentation detailing innovative game-play mechanics, mission walkthroughs, story lines, character biographies, control systems, and asset inventories

• Design, model, texture, and light 3D architectural, game-play-rich environments.

• Triggering and placing entities (such as enemies, movers, and objects) to create fun, absorbing game-play

• Skilled in roughing out world geometry, camera paths, and lighting using 3D world-building tools to the extent that the Environment Art team can then embellish what is there to create levels that are both visually stunning and conducive to good game-play.

• Coordinating and mentoring the creative efforts of other project level designers.

• Assist with the scripting of game-play entities and events.

• Ability to resolve game-play and production issues

• Collaborate closely with project artists to create visually stunning environments

• Knowledge of the development process from concept to final product release.

• Maintain knowledge of game features and technologies, as they pertain to game-play implementation and level optimizations

Skills & Pluses

• Art skills

• Scripting experience

• Degree in Architecture
