mikezilla Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 I like how, even though it's been a while, I've forgotten his name, and it's next-gen, I still recognise the face of the crawling soldier in the 1st scan. ) Ironically that soldier is Cpl. Sam Corrion. He's the character that I voice. Quote
Polaris Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 is BIA 3 using unreal 3 engine? those screenshots look fantastic! Yep, Unreal 3 for sure. I just hope valve can hold their own with whatever they work on next. I mean Unreal and Epic are great and all but I'd rather not see the entire Industry end up using the same engine, no matter how promising it looks now. Quote

Fletch Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Thank you Thrik. Because if you didn't, I was going to. And then mikey would hit me with a rolled up newspaper. Quote
mikezilla Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 Wasn't Brothers in Arms a Dire Straits album... am I missing some obvious ACDC connection here? Quote
TomWithTheWeather Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Yeah its a Dire Straights album and ACDC song. It's also a western. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439504/ Quote
The Postman Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Looking good over all, I went and found some non-fuzzy scans on, uh, I think Blues News. Just some comments/critiques if I may. On the characters mostly. The faces seem a little "pillowy" - I don't know. They seem too rounded and perhaps not grimey enough? I really like the one with the reddened circles under his eyes and the dirty face, but the top pic with the chap you voice, Mikey, he's vastly too clean and also has a funny thing going on with the shape of his jaw, but perhaps it's just the angle. The world on the whole seems like it could be toned down saturation-wise too, but that's just personal preference. Overall though, great work, lookin' hot on the Unreal 3 engine. Curious to see some footage of it all in action sooner than later! Wasn't Brothers in Arms a Dire Straits album... am I missing some obvious ACDC connection here? I'm not terribly certain, but I know that ACDC has a song that has "Highway to Hell" in the chorus at the very least. Quote
Fletch Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 And yes, Brothers in Arms was a Dire Straits album. I downloaded it a few weeks ago (the last track is phenominal) and felt wierd about pirating something called Brothers in Arms because all the other downlaod links were the game. Quote

I also saw scans with better resolution (over here: http://www.playerone.be/galleries/gal_b ... n=bia4.jpg ) and I must say the levels look beautiful! On the other hand the characters look like Toy Soldiers, probably because of the points Posty mentioned. Quote

Mazy Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 OMG UR ON IMDB!1! *faints* http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1946693/ Anyway, I agree with the characters part, but thats just because the levels looks so good that they stand out, for example on these ones they look kinda weird :G http://www.playerone.be/galleries/gal_b ... jpg&page=1 But I'm sure it will look better altogether when its ingame with all that facial animation stuff going on. Also Market Garden is definitily one of the most interesting parts of the european campaign, those small dutch gardens with small walls are just so luvlay Quote
Minos Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 OMG UR ON IMDB!1! *faints* http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1946693/ someone upload that photo of him drunk! quick! Quote
Zacker Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Sharp shadows do not belong in a next gen game. There is also something about the characters which I do not like, I can't spot what it is though - might also just be the bad scans. Quote
