von*ferret Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 I have my studio class in which I devise my own project. I'll post my updates here on the progress. This is a 10 week (9 weeks now) project that I'm doing with Battlefield 2. Kleinluka will also be involved on texture creations. Go here to read the work in progress blog, see the presentations I give my class, and the final screenshots of the work! You can either comment on the blog or comment here as I make progress on the project. I know there are small updates I need to do with font colors on the blog so that you see things properly. That'll all be handled as time allows! Yes, ferret is finaly creating a level again http://studentpages.scad.edu/~zaford20/index.html oh and this is a stupid little thing I did in flash. it is like 40 megs though so be patient. And yes I know the movies stutter http://studentpages.scad.edu/~zaford20/ ... elite.html Quote
Minos Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 lol you are the first level designer I know who mentions his influences on his portfolio. Am I too dumb or there are no screens of this project in your site ? Quote
von*ferret Posted March 29, 2006 Author Report Posted March 29, 2006 should've explained. Its not a portfolio site really. Its like a live journal of me working on the level. Right now I'm working on pre-production work of the level. I posted this so that ifpeople want to watch as I work they can rather than just show you the end with the long journal of stuff you might not have been interested in reading in the end. I'll just keep you updated as I update the journal and stuff. So to recap not a portfolio site journal of the production of my project influences were part of my presentation to my class Quote
Minos Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 ah ok. Looking forward to seeing the good ol' fetter back to action again~~ Quote
st0lve Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 I really like the design and colours. Cool content aswell Quote
von*ferret Posted April 15, 2006 Author Report Posted April 15, 2006 Thanks I updated it a little bit more, cleaned up some geometry, optimzed others, and added a couple more details I felt were important. Then I just threw them into a rough position of how they'll look on the beach. http://studentpages.scad.edu/~zaford20/ Quote
Squirrelly Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 I've been mapping for Battlefield since ED42 (3rd party tool made by coincoin before Battlecraft arrived), so I basically know everything there is to know about Battlefield mapping. If you have any questions, or need any input, I'd gladly help you out. Just remember though, the Battlefield 2 engine is very limited in what you can implement, due to the fact it is object oriented, and you are likely to encounter a lot of bugs (which I imagine you have already). Good luck! Quote
von*ferret Posted April 15, 2006 Author Report Posted April 15, 2006 Mostly scale at the moment. I know they're in meters but I'm having trouble getting the level's models from the editor into the game. Something with the tweaker file I hear from bf2's editor forums. I got most of the level planned out and am working on the modular models and stuff cheers Quote
Squirrelly Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 1 pixel = 1 centimeter That means 100 pixels is 1 Battlefield 2 meter. And a Battlefield 2 meter is 10 max units when set to be 0,1 meters each... Confusing? Your best bet is importing a player model into max, and setting it up next to your models to get an accurate scale. Quote
st0lve Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 You need to fix your date and time. Cause atm. its black! D: Quote
