spacer Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 I haven't played it, but it wins the award for best acronym (sp)? Quote
Lee3dee Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 no xb360 yet. hopefully soon. Looks awesome! a few of my students skipped class to play it, I was proud to drop each of them 5% off their final grade! muwahhaha! Quote
swartsz Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 When is the PC version coming? pc version should be here in May but dates vary a bit, one website has it listed for the 4th of May while others just say May. Quote
ReNo Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 How much is different in each version of the game by the way? I know that the PC/old consoles versions are in first person, but are there any other critical differences? I'm thinking I'll hold off for the 360 version anyway, but I'm curious Quote
Mazy Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Well, Gamespot gave the 360 version 9.2, but gave the Xbox version 5.9. So apparently the 360 version is the way to go Quote
swartsz Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 the pc version also uses a different engine, the inhouse engine from GRIN if i am not mistaken, called 'Diesel' there isn't a whole lot of info on the pc version released at the moment, but hopefully that will change once we get closer to the release date. but i believe the pc version will have the FPS view instead of the over the shoulder view. Evert Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 pc is fps only, totally different game then 360 and xbox versions. Quote
Mojo Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 wow, the game starts awesome, but then the combat gets really weak and sometimes impossibly hard. The missions switch from you with a squad to you with no squad (especially in scenarios where a team would make more sense). Bad objectives (take out that tower, but go here first to get a sniper rifle since this level didn't start as a sniper mission but now it is and you cannot do anything without a sniper rifle), Bad Voice Acting ("watch out! more bad guys" - an actual line), Animation Popping, No Lip Syncing Multiplayer is fun, but the Single Player lacks a lot of polish. Mazy Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Yup mojo, big mp luv Btw Mojo, you forgot the line "I love this country....what a shame". Was repeated like 50 times throughout the game, ended up getting kinda depressing Quote
Mojo Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 oh yeah, thats ramirez, I just took him out of my squad everytime I had the chance since he was so damn annoying Quote
Izuno Posted March 23, 2006 Author Report Posted March 23, 2006 well i finally got it today after finishing a tough work project ... twas my reward to myself. only finished the training level and played level 1...i really like it. i haven't played much of ghost recon games before and i found there was a bit of a learning curve on the controls. still, i like what i'm seeing and I can't wait to play some online with people. give me a hollar on xbox live if you need some newb to chew up. DD Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 I love this game. Love the SP. Some missions are a bit hard, which I usually like, but the parts which were hard to me were because bad training or no training (helicopter sequence plzzz). However I'm really excited about their game design decisions. Auto-cover mounting, context sensitve button, squad control from situational awarness, squad behavior switch, completely open levels with linear control, a persistent world... I mean, great! I don't like how they cover up mediocre AI with superhuman mexicans that have 360 fov, bat like hearing, and night vision. MP is awesome, specially coop. I love how difficult coop is too. I also wish the cover system was in mp/coop as well as sp. I can understand some technical reasons and gameplay reasons for mp but not sp. I plan on buying a 360 after I move just for this game (and burnout), and media center, and geometry wars. The end. Quote
Grinwhrl Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 pc version dosnt look as good, but some of the newer images i have seen are looking more impressive. So it might have hope, Quote
