wacko Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Except the obvious mod testing there is barely anything else than WoW for me. Many people have claimed that endgame content is non existant and that is also true if you dislike to raid. If you like to overcome dungeons in 20/40 mans raids like I do then it's good enough though:) In our guild(http://www.infinityguild.net) we have taken Hakkar, Onyxia, Ragnaros and Razorgore. those people are worthless bastards... and we taylor way to much to them when it comes to content. oh well next two patches will help with some of the content I hear Quote
Taylor Swift Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge do people still play that? D3ads Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Devastation. Oldish FPS that runs on the Unreal Warfare engine, got poor reviews and the only reason I have it is because it was buy two get one free at GAME awhilew ago. It's ok, pretty generic stuff really, graphics aren't too bad. Quote

ReNo Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Project Zero 3 (Fatal Frame 3 in some places) hit the shops today, so as a fan of the series I picked it up. Played it for a few hours tonight, and so far my thoughts... - It's (at least initially) harder than both of the others, but my experience with the series means that doesn't really mean much this early on. - Not as scary, but again, most likely due to my experience. They still get me every now and then with some sneaky scare tactics. VERY sneaky when you think about how they scared you afterwards too - those guys know the tricks! - Best story so far, and it ties together the first two games and more quite nicely. In the second game there was the slightest of links, but this one is teeming with them. - Very inspired by Silent Hill 4: The Room. - They've made the ghosts appear far more "solid" when really close to you, but still plenty ethereal when distant. This makes for some awesome up close shots. - Entire game system is still in its archaic form - fixed point camera angles are really beginning to grate now and controls aren't wonderful. All in all, it's probably the best in the series judging by the first few hours. My only concern is that the series isn't developing in terms of gameplay; it's just becoming more refined in terms of storytelling and presentation. The camera based combat system is still pretty exciting though GAME also had a deal on preowned titles - selected titles at 2 for £5 - so I picked up Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter for the Xbox, and Extreme-G Racing Association for PS2. Not that I hugely cared about either, but at 2 for £5 you might as well! Unfortunately when I got home I found that XGRA actually had the XG3 disk and manual inside...which sucked considering I already own XG3 for the Gamecube Back to the shop it goes to be replaced by...who knows. It's ok, pretty generic stuff really, graphics aren't too bad. The nearest Futureshop has had one copy of it for at least a year now. It's about $9 dollars (Canadian) and still no ones picked it up. I havn't grabbed it because the demo was pretty incomplete, but I think I might now, just to take it off their hands. Quote

It's rather fun actually, the only problem is that the AI is a bit buggy and sometimes your friends get stuck in objects so you have to whack them till they become unstuck. The locations are brilliant, loved the rooftop level and 'The Rock' Quote
Taylor Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 The only games I have played for the last 5 weeks are: World of Warcraft. Warcraft 3. Disgaea (BST EVR) Half-life 2. those people are worthless bastards... and we taylor way to much to them when it comes to content. oh well next two patches will help with some of the content I hear Taylor would tailor your content if his application contained any credentials whatsoever and wasn’t thusly sorted into the round filing cabinet seconds after arrival Anyway, I made a character on the US realms initially because they all speak the lingo, and was one of the first few to kill Ragnaros v2.0 because I’m a sad git. I found the game completely raid orientated, in fact I had to make a character on the EU realms so I could raid around my job. As far as I know the new casual content consists of giving players more reasons to run these same instances they’ve been running for the past year to upgrade their class sets into slightly better class sets... maybe so their PUG lasts that vital second more in the battleground against the tier 2 epic equipped arranged team? Of course, I only know what’s been released. I really would hope there’s more planned for casual gamers before the expansion hits. Tigole can quote Vael deaths as he likes, it’s really crying out for a new 5/10-man instance (since ZG didn't really work out as the MC stepping stone, as it's harder). Quote
Grinwhrl Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 I dled Trackmania, going to give it a try. Quote
