mawibse
Wicked groovie stuff! 2D pictures is one thing though, wonder how it works in stereoscopic vision aka "being there".
Thrik
Amazing stuff. I liked those pavement 3D paintings too, though I can't remember where they are.

Indeed, would love to see of those for real. Must be really surreal for people that just walk in and notice it
Bic-B@ll
get a projector and you're in business
ginsengavenger
totally. I'm not convinced they're real, but I'd like to believe it. The pictures themselves look quite photoshopped but I think it'd be easier to just do it than try to fake it. Anyway, this might be pretty doable in a map..... Bic-B@ll
it's entirely possible, a projector would make it really easy, you can always just have a guy sit in a chair and direct you too.
Minos
That kind of art is called op art (optical art). It isn't anything new but those are really cool. Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Op-art example:
Fletch
I still think the room paintings are fakes. 1) There are some bad aliasing problems in those shots, like somebody sloppily photoshopped it. 2) For that illusion to work, your eyes or camera lens would have to be at a very precise spot, looking at a certain angle. So it seems like a waste of energy if you are not an exact height. 3) The one shot has paint over the doors, requiring that they be open to that precise spot for the illusion to work.
