I just recently subscribed to a website, http://www.environment-textures.com

Pretty much its a large, popular, photo-resource site for 2d/3d artwork. It's pretty well known in the modding world from what I've seen. Basically I'm willing to share my access, but I don't want to go posting it freely here, so send a private message asking me. Just a few quick notes.

1) Don't give out the access to your mod or other friends, please.

2) The site only has 30 days, starting from the day I post this, left on it. Meaning after 30 days I lose access on that account, so I recommend saving just about everything you can in the time given.

3) It's my cash, and I don't have to give you access. I make the choice, but likely anyone is welcomed to it as long as you've been respectful.

Thanks!

And I replied :)

Well, the thing is if I paid for two months I would of been offered the *BONUS* Section meaning it would give you the download to all the textures, like 19 gigs. The trouble was thought it was an extra $13.50 and I didn't want to.

Thanks a lot curman! :)

I noticed that the photos open in a popup window and when you click on another picture it opens up in the same window. So here's a little trick how to make downloading pictures more comfortable:

First you need this Firefox extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/m ... on=firefox

Now you can access some advanced preferences for tabbed browsing. There you just need to set that all javascript popups should be opened in the current window.

All the pictures will now open in a new tab instead of a popup. This makes it way more convenient to steal them all :D

yeah the purpose of the site is to create photos for digital artists at a fee so that they can continue to provide that resource. Simply stealing their resources without paying them doesn't help them stay afloat or maintain their purpose of providing, or am I missing something here?

I'm not getting upset at all?

I shared my access to the site with others. He's simply saying its easier to save all the photos with that add-on for Firefox. He just jokingly used the word steal.

Ferret, there are 30 000 photos on the site. It takes me 20 seconds to save one photo. This means that it would take me 160 hours or exactly 1 work month to "steal" them. It's easier to buy that 46$ subscription and download the zips...

I didn't find anything about sharing your account with your friends. Perhaps I'm blind.

easy ferret, let's just say curman shares the photos he paid for, with his friends.

no seriously, you're kinda right. environment-textures.com is a great site and should be rewarded for their efforts. I'm definetely gonna sign up for the service later, because the amout of photos seems to be increasing constantly and it's surely a good thing signing up every year or so, to keep the collection up to date.

And for those who feel uncomfortable using curmans offer, here's a list of sites that provide a similar service, but for free:

http://www.imageafter.com

http://www.morguefile.com

http://www.sxc.hu

http://www.flickr.com

http://www.webshots.com

By the way, here's another Firefox plugin that lets you automatically save all picture of all open tabs: http://magpie.lockfile.org/

(I guess all these plugins were built to make porn gallery downloading easier... :D)
