GrayFox Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Well, here they are: http://www.oscar.com/nominees/list.html I'm quite satisfied with the choices (Spielberg's films got 8 nominations ;D). I still don't understand why Batman Begins is nominated for best cinematography... sure it was good but Sin City, anyone??? Quote
Minos Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I'm quite glad Fernando Meirelle's (brazilian director) The Constant Gardener got 4 nominations. Quote
Section_Ei8ht Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 This is gonna be tough for me. I'm rooting for both Good Night, and Good Luck and Munich. Quote

Section_Ei8ht Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Fletch, you're probably right about Brokeback Mountain beating Munich (remember Shakespear in Love vs. Saving Private Ryan) Quote

The Postman Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 The surprising lack of love for Walk the Line in this thread is fucking abysmal Quote
Kosmo Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 I think Oscars are bullshit, they always pick the movies from the top of the box office, and give the movies like 15 nominations and bull crap like that. I would LOVE if they actually had a wide range of movies, and I mean wide, like a hundred movies or so. It seems like an easy pick when they give a nomination for one movie for lead actor, they just give the movie some other nomination just because it is already there so they don't have to look further. Like why the hell hasn't anyone given Johnny Depp an Oscar? Not a single movie he has done deserves an Oscar? Not one? Quote
ginsengavenger Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Looks like I haven't seen any of this year's important movies Quote

mawibse Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 I still don't understand why Batman Begins is nominated for best cinematography... sure it was good but Sin City, anyone??? To put it simply: More then one director = No membership in Directors Guild of America = no Oscar. Quote
