RabidMonkey Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Hawt. I guess that's why they call it the CryEngine, it makes me cry with tears of joy :'( (This makes my comp feel sadly obsolete) Quote
Algor Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 looks pretty damn nice. good to see that vid in actual hi-res. Quote

Belgarion Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Seriously sweet stuff to be seen there. But if someone try's to tell me that will run on anything less than a nasa super computer then I ain't listening. actually, they use old computer equipment so they know it won't fail, if memory serves, and i wasn't being lied to. Un-Flabbergasting-awesome That covered it nicely. hah. yeah it did. My love for CryTek grows further. I always tell people cryengine is awesome. .. i've been ridiculed for it. <3 cryengine. Quote
Algor Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 http://www.shacknews.com/docs/press/012406_ati.x Coincidence? Probably not.. but uh.. I got nothin' Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 do the clouds cast shadows? it doesn't look like they do, though i can kinda see dark spots under them. Quote
FrieChamp Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 do the clouds cast shadows? it doesn't look like they do, though i can kinda see dark spots under them. They do, I'm not that fond of the the bird perspective shots which have been released, but the shadows of the clouds add a lot to the terrain. Gives it a much more 3D look when spots on terrain and vegetation are lit differently. Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 awesome. and does the shading on the clouds themselves change as the sun moves? Quote
FrieChamp Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 awesome. and does the shading on the clouds themselves change as the sun moves? Yes. As you might have seen, the game hasofficially been announced and there is another article out, this time in the British PC Zone Quote
JAL Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I think I begin to see a pattern here. CRYtek, CRYengine, Far CRY, CRYsis. Someone's got a cry fetish. Quote
