⌐■_■
Yay! We got another SDK update! Hammer 4.1 beta is now officialy in use, wich I think is a bummer. I guess I'm too used to hammer 4.0... Also: when I loaded my map it screwed up a little on the displacement part... I'm really not fond of Valve lately, allthough I do appreciate the fact that the SDK is still under developement. Too bad hammer 4.1 sucks a$$. Zacker
Well at least it seems like we got semi-regular updates now, which is a big plus. It was really a joke that they had all reasons to release more updates to Hammer 4 and yet did not do it for almost a year. This is what should have been the strength of Steam, regular updates. Izuno
FYI update log is found here for those who forgot: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki ... ease_Notes Personally, I have found Hammer 4.1 very stable so far. Way fewer crashes and lockups. It doesn't exactly run that fast, but my aging Athlon 3400+ and meager 1 gig of ram probably contribute to the slowness. Flight40
My 2800+ and 768 MB runs it fine

mike-0
only difference i noticed was shaded textures (which dont really help) and visible displacements/models
Bic-B@ll
hammer crashes if you try to slice a sphere and i wish displacement maps were not totally white in untextured mode, give them a visgroup color or shade them or outline the edges or something. Steppenwolf
The more i work with the updated sdk the more i hate it The 2d views look blurry now, the thicker grid lines disappear when i scroll in to see more, overlays disappear randomly, new and different lighting bugs every time i compile my map even when nothing is changed in that area etc.
sinarty
Is there a big difference? I'm still downloading HL2 and the SDK off Steam...
