Izuno Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 I am actually more curious to see what Renderware can do on X360 and PS3. Is this PS3 only? Haven't read the whole thread. Quote
RD Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 even with total freedom of where to go.. Too bad that's a lie. Isnt that what they say about this game. Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 izuno: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medal_of_Honor_Airborne wiki says 360 also Quote
FrieChamp Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 The writers say "it is on PS3", but the developers also mention XBOX 360. I would like to see it actually running on a PS3 though. Anyway, this is looking pretty sweet, but I am suspicious about screenshots and design coming from EALA. Quote
Mojo Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 don't forget what is mostly pre-rendered, etc. Like the Killswitch demo, it was pre-rendered. sure it ran on the ps3 but that was to encode, at what 5 FPS, and then they just sped up the film to the right speed? Quote
TomWithTheWeather Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 even with total freedom of where to go.. Too bad that's a lie. Isnt that what they say about this game. That's actually pretty much what everyone says about every game. :/ Quote
Phlek Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Fps on consoles suck Oh so true. FPS just aren't made for consoles, unless you can use a mouse of course. Quote
Mazy Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Pretty interesting concept with the drops, and the stuff they show there looks pretty sweet. My patience with WW2 shooters is really running thin though :G Quote
Pericolos0 Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 people are still complaining that fps's on consoles suck? I though halo proved that they dont years ago Quote
ReNo Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 Totally - they don't suck, some people just don't seem to have figured out how to play them yet. Screenshots look awesome, but I learnt a long time ago not to place too much faith in screenshots and "gameplay" trailers.I'm witholding judgement, but it's certainly now on my radar Quote
mikezilla Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 it's the same guys that did Pacific Assault, and the same claims. Need I remind us of "Dynamic unscripted procedural A.I." Quote
Kosmo Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 Oh my GOD! That has to be bullshit, no game can look that sweet! But watching those screens just makes me wonder, the ultimately positively the most greatest studio producing visuals, Square Enix will literally blow our minds away with the stuff they can do for Final Fantasy games. My wildest dreams are pale compare to this, I was going through my mind on how games will look in the next-gen consoles, but this is OFF THE HOOK! But now, it would rock to hear some technical specs of the games that are made for the PS3 and Xenon, how much polygons, how big texture maps (and how many) so that we can start to explore the possibilities. Kosmo Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 people are still complaining that fps's on consoles suck? I though halo proved that they dont years ago Oh, I think that no one that said so didn't mean that the game itself sucked, like medal of honor series has had some great moments, nice story, and quality all the way. Halo and Metroid series are prime (aha prime) examples of that, but what they are saying is that consoles has possibly, totally the worst user interface for controlling such games. Just like for RTS games, the pad doesn't just cut it. FPS games, who trades mouse & keyboard for a pad? RTS games, mouse & keyboard for pad? Simulator, joystick or wheel & pedals for pad? MMORPG, mouse & keyboard for pad? Consoles have a big problem on this department, the pad just works for so few games, and if you are trying to give me immerse FPS experience and "loose" me in to the action or realistic simulator and make me thing that I actually am a mech pilot or a race car driver, you have to do better than a batarang. Now Revolution is on the right track, but unless they come up with something more than nunchaku, it will miss some great potential, they offer us the perfect interface for many games, but at the same time give us the worst possible interface for fighting games for example.
