GrayFox Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Fallout 1 & 2, Diablo 2 and Max Payne 2. Those were the first that came to mind. Quote
st0lve Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 dare i say: Sam n Max hit the road Full ThrottleHeard so much great stuff about both, but never played any of them Quote
Kosmo Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 So many games to list, but I have said about a million times. Adventure games made with Scumm engine are the best games ever. Monkey islands Sam n' Max: Hit the Road Day of the Tentacle Full Throttle The Dig But this is something I really would like you all to try out, it's a great concept but the team is not that good. Neocron a sci-fi cyberpunk MMORPG, it's almost a straight copy of the best game of all times System Shock 2, but it is set in to a world copied from one of the best comic books of all time Judge Dredd, the game has it all if you are into cyberpunk. It has a 10 day trial, I suggest that if you have the time you go and check it out, I promise that you fall in love with it, even if it has more bugs than Anarchy Online had when it first came out. Go out and check it out. Quote
Izuno Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 damn...totally forgot about my early days of PC gaming when you could still find some old games on floppies [80's rap]Don't copy that floppy![/80's rap] old Sierra adventure titles: King's Quest series (esp II, III, IV) Here's Quest which became Quest for Glory... HQ, QfG II, QfG III Those games were so awesome...reminds me of a time before the weight of the world crushed my spirit. Then my later adventure game favorite were Full Throttle. But then I played the original Doom....and I've been a FPS junkie since. I miss the great adventure game days. What's a good modern one to play? Quote
ctswin Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 fahrenheit / indigo prophecy is pretty good (euro / us name) Curse of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango are probably Lucasarts last two good adventure games (Escape from Monkey Island came after, either a love or hate it sequel though really.) BONE is OK (very short and kinda rough, done by previous Lucasarts employees though) then there's more recent ones, varying quality though and someone like thrik might be able to name some ¬¬ Quote
cdxx Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Great thread. Now: HL2 & BF2 Then: Space quest(1-3), police quest(1-3), kings quest(1-4), heros quest(1-3). the first gabrial night was pretty cool too. I really wish they'd go back and make games like that again. Zak McCrakin, Maniac Mansion, The Dig, Elder Scolls Arena & Morrowind and Syndicate. Quote
MrH2o Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 HL 1 and 2 (doh) but other games that have made impressions on me are, MOH series, COD, Duke Nukem (I can't belive more haven't said that), Max Payne 1 and 2 and Battlefield games (when they work) Quote
Quakis Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Best game I have played so far has got to be Quake 4 Best game for making the player feel like he's in the game is obviously Half Life 2. Best game I think for the amount of high quality user maps (In my honest opinion) is got to be Doom (Zdoom port more like) Best game on the Build engine is got to be Blood I can't decide an overall best game though... Grinwhrl Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 HL/HL2 Planetside(wish there was a game like it but more to it) Hitman Series Age of Empires 2 Warcraft Quote

st0lve Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 What's a good modern one to play?Play Fallout2. Even if its old, its still the best, and if you've played it, play it again. (I mean comeon, its so cool be play as a female and sleep with every junkie alive!) Quote

Zacker Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Half-Life 1 is probably the game I consider as the best ever. I have had _lots_ of fun a lot of other games though. Here is a few randoms where I probably have forgotten the best: Command & Conquer UT(both 1 and 2k4) Sim City FarCry Starcraft Maxpayne 2 Transport Tycoon Quote
