New Monitor

My 20th birthday is coming up (the 19th) and Im thinking of 'requesting' a new LCD monitor.. The thing is, its been 8 years since I even thought about checking out monitors and what I should buy.

So I might as well ask you guys, what brand should I aim for and what model. Or rather, what should I be on the lookout for?

edit; the monitor will be used for mapping/3d/gaming. I'll probably use my old monitor for IRC'in and surfin'.. Oh and the monitor gotta be 19" or higher and not exceed 500~600$.

I would say go for the Dell 24" like me, but otherwise then Samsung make some fine monitors (at least the one I had was excellent stuff).

Yeah thats the problem, I gave $1.100 for it, but now its costs around $1.600, so that might be a tad too much D:

Its an absolutely amazing monitor though
