SnipaMasta Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Wow. That looks really awesome, especially the cars etc. in the sky. The only thing I would suggest is new textures, but if you're not good at that then don't worry - it looks cool but the "combine" metal look doesn't work too well with a sky city, in my opinion. Still, awesome work. Quote
Fletch Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Holy hotness. Not sure about the marble floor (need to see it in action to see what the shader is doing), but the rest looks amazing. This map has come a long way. Quote
Schmung Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Awesome stuff! The first screen is so vibrant and full of life and colour. Loving it. Your warehouse could maybe do wwith a bit more colour in some of the textures there - maybe just use some trims or change the colour of the supports to make them stand out more. I too am not sure of the marble. Perhaps a differnt colour or some sort of design on it? Maybe just a box aroun d the cloudcity logo and then some use that blueish trim (which I think could do with being a bit darker) a bit more? Quote
Evert Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 It looks VERY good. Thing I like the least is the wooden debris in the image with the crates and barrels. Quote
EjrulF Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 the first two shots looks really cool! gj love the light spots and how the colorful signs blends with the dark surroundings... rest of the pics looks kinda empty and plain...they need some more detail, spice up these areas and you got a really cool map! misterbister Posted September 5, 2006 Author Report Posted September 5, 2006 Thanks for the great feedback! Dm_cloudcity has entered final beta stage and is now available for anyone to download. This is the final opportunity to give feedback, please do so if you find it necessary. The map is available at: http://www.leveldesign.nu/skit/dm_cloudcity_final_beta.rar Quote
SnipaMasta Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 When you jump/fall off the edge, you can clearly see the bottom of the level which is a bit of a problem. Not sure how you could fix that, except perhaps fog covering the player's view when they fall down there. Quote
Nysuatro Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 I do not like the use of the colors you have done Quote
misterbister Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 Progress: Ive been solving most of the issues and made a compile with HDR; as I expected the map didn't work very well with HDR because of its "darkness". I have concluded not to implement HDR in the final version. Quote
Zacker Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I thought HDR would be cool in a map like this. Have you tried with some lower settings? Quote
spine Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Looks awesome, you got to change that woody rubble texture. Maybe something with concrete would fit better. Quote
misterbister Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 Zacker: HDR only works well when there are high contrast in brightness in the lighting, such as walking from a dark cave into the sunlight. Cloudcity doesnt have that sort of contrast. Its quite dark all the way. Spine: The wood rubble is no more, I replaced it in the final beta. Quote
misterbister Posted November 6, 2006 Author Report Posted November 6, 2006 Progress: Ive been working on fixing all the exploits and issues the final beta had, and i can feel that I'm very close. Ill be testing the map throughout this week and hopefully a final build will be done this weekend. Ive also started writing article about the making of the map; since the map has about one year of development on its neck there is very much to talk about. I'm planning on releasing the article and the map at the same time. This probably means that the final version will be postponed a week or two for translation form Swedish to English on the article.
