ReNo Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 alright, someone explain what zbrush does From my understanding of it (I've never used it), it allows you to scult detail onto models very simply through a somewhat painterly-esque interface. So instead of adding polys and shifting vertices, you paint ridges and wrinkles onto existing meshes. I wasn't aware you could make models from scratch using it - the most common use most people seem to have for it is to add surface details to faces. Quote
PhilipK Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 It's like a sculpting program. Simply: You paint in 3D. Very useful for highpoly characters and other models for normal maps. Of course as well for world texture normals. Quote
General Vivi Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 nice stuff there man . keep up the awsome work. the pipeish work you did on the 2nd page, did you do that in z brush? it looks very intracit and complex, how long did it take you? Quote

Not that long actualy, the details are made in photoshop since in zbrsh you can mask polys with an alpha then extrude them. That's what I did, made the design in PS then mapped on a few forms then tweaked the extruded polys. Upon the Remains (1280x960). Quote
