zeOx Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Did anyone watch this? I just finished watching it, and it sucked ass. I always thought that a video game awards show ould be kind of cool, but not like this. It was packed with moviestars and the likes, wich has nothing to do with videogames at all. The entire thing was just stupid, and i hope they never do it again EDIT: oh, and they called Link (zelda) a dwarf. correct me if i'm wrong, but he's never been a dwarf Quote
von*ferret Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 hahahahahahah hahahahahahah thats like mtv's politcal debates. Quote
General Vivi Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 i really didn't like it the first time. mainly because they were no runners up for different awards they just said who won.... thats not really fun . AND THE MILLION DALLAR WINNER IS!!! *billy heres your prize next!* Quote
Lurker Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Call of Duty 2 won Best Military Shooter... I mean, for what it is, it's a great game... but come on. Quote
Tequila Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 'Best Military Shooter' - what a redundant category. Next they'll have 'Best Game Featuring Citizens Of The Czech Republic'. Quote
ReNo Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 I don't think it's a redundant category at all - it's not as if there aren't enough of them and typically the difference between them and less realistic games makes it hard to compare them. Call of Duty and Medal of Honour are easy enough to compare, but if you try to liken it to HL2 or FEAR it becomes a little less fair. I'd likewise think that it's reasonable to offer categories like "racing simulation" for the Forza/GT4 type game and "arcade racer" for the Ridge Racer/Wipeout/Need for Speed crowd, as the differences between them make it very hard to compare them and there are normally plenty per year to fill out both. What did you mean by your comment Lurker, that it wasn't deserving of the title or that the category is stupid? By the way, I just want to say right now that I'm in no way sticking up for the awards show - I've never seen it and probably wouldn't care to! Quote
von*ferret Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 anything that brings more popularity to our industry and provides new customers, hopefully more women (though I wouldn't expect them from spike), is a good thing. Quote
Tequila Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Removed that depressingly bleak comment . Here's me previously stating Mapcore should smarten up. Tsk, to the corner of shame for me. Quote
Tequila Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 What did I miss? Smut. Not the visual kind though, so don't worry. Quote
