Steppenwolf Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 People! Altho i hate consoles i will(MUST!) buy a PS2 soon! The best Football game in history of mankind will make a comeback! http://uk.playstation.com/news/newsStory.jhtml?storyId=107159_en_GB_NEWS&linktype=NT3 Forget Fifa and Pro Evolution Soccer. There never was, is and will be a football game with more ball control and immersion then Sensible Soccer! Modern footballl games are just boring interactive movies compared to the original. Lets say fifa is at 20% and PES at 50% then Sensible Socer is at 100% fun! I havent played it yet but i rate it 99% (only because the "soccer" in the name sucks). Quote
von*ferret Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 not a sports game fan except for fun racing games =( Quote
kleinluka Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 i used to play sensible soccer back in the days..pretty good game, but WINNING EVLEVEN 8 > * Quote
FrieChamp Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Never played it, anyone remember "Striker" for the SNES? That was a whacky soccer game. Quote
Tequila Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Never played it, anyone remember "Striker" for the SNES? That was a whacky soccer game. I adored Striker, especially the indoor match option. Sensible Soccer is one hell of a game, very simple with beautiful feel, but it just won't unsurp Pro Evo 5 for me. Quote
mike-0 Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 virtua striker on dreamcast playing as sonic the hedgehog ftw Quote
Kosmo Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 The only football game (sorry, no love for americans ) I played more than 5 minuted was Fifa 98, Ronaldo had the most accurate shots ever. Quote

D3ads Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 I don't see the point in sports games, it's all about what you can't do in real life for me so playing football on a console game just seems pointless when you can just go down the park and play for real... Quote

The same thing I have wondered about The Sims series, why play your boring ass life when you are trapped in it? Quote
Izuno Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 I don't see the point in sports games, it's all about what you can't do in real life for me so playing football on a console game just seems pointless when you can just go down the park and play for real... true...but many people do see the point of sports games because in reality, can you easily go play football for your favorite NFL team? Or football (a.k.a. Soccer) for your favorite football team? Maybe...but are you really likely to do that? You can become a NASCAR driver, but is that realistic? Are you? It's a lot easier (and safer) to buy some video game and try to live out such fantasies that way. Given the popularity of sports games, a lot of people see the point. Personally, I don't really see the point much either. Maybe football and snowboarding games... Quote

The same thing I have wondered about The Sims series, why play your boring ass life when you are trapped in it? You are not forced to play a "normal" life in Sims! I have played it as alcoholic or as psychopath who traps and tortures his neighboors. Lot of fun! By the way the new sensible soccer will come for PC too so i dont have to buy a console, yay! Quote
Kosmo Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Granted, you can play as a drunkard or a psycho in Sims, but I'd rather go in to the jungle and stab people in the back in Farcry Instincts or lurk in the shadows in Thief 3  But anyway, the way I see sports games, or should I say basketball games since they are the only sports games I play, even if I can grab the ball and go out to toss it around, I still can't be Grant Hill and kick some major ass in Madison Square Garden. Alf-Life Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Yeah, PES5 is electronic crack. Quote

You could go buy a gun and go on a rampage, but you choose not to, i'm terrible at tennis but pretty good at virtua tennis. can i not play that? why must games be limited to certain things? because you don't understand something someone else likes?
