just found this and to my astonishment Brett Ratner does not appear to have screwed it up.

This is looking cool...The apocalyptic-esque scenes especially. Had little hope after X2. And who can argue against Frasier as Beast?

Thing is, the effects and action will naturally look sweet. Which they do. But direction holds a film together at the seams.

With Ratner onboard, it may well fall apart.

Atlast they have Beast, how can you make X-Men movie without him? It's like making X-Force movie without Cable or Avengers movie without Iron Man or Thor.

But on to the point, I'm hoping that they would make more like a thinking movie from X3 than fast paced action spectacle, I have nothing against action movies nor do I think that X-Men doesn't fit in action movies, but I would love a film where they would go deeper to the makings of the world around them. I have read alot of X-Men and it just seems stupid to have movies where they just go somewhere and rip everyone a new ass hole and then leave.

The movie looks neat but I'm not hoping that much, and I think Spidey movie with Venom is going to kick them off the map and then some.
