Taylor Swift Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 the last pic looks best i like the shaders on the car and the metal reflections! I love cars. Quote
cyberjunkie Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 Silly ISP , connection downtime = 3-4days and some stupid exams ;D as well. oh PLZ mazy! Its teh new skylein1!1 Look closely! The reflections everywhere make the mesh look all bumpy and stuff but its not too clean a mesh either. Actually I'm trying to run away from this model and do something new cause I spent too much time on this car I guess I can come back to this later and do a wacko paintjob using textures and the interiors, etc  TY wilco,Philip,Nexus Did the TIRE/TYRE! a few days back when the connection was down tho. von*ferret Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 now that looks a billion times better, literaly. YOu use displacement mapping or add the geometry for the grooves? Id love to see a wireframe. Quote
cyberjunkie Posted December 9, 2005 Author Report Posted December 9, 2005 The thread was placed over the old tire. Tire Thread Wire Quote
von*ferret Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 how dd you go about doing that? make a mesh and do some sort of loft thing? Quote
cyberjunkie Posted December 10, 2005 Author Report Posted December 10, 2005 One strip of the tyre was modelled, then made some 70-80 copies of it and used Bend modifier for all of them to bend in a angle so that that curl up and meet. Quote
Quakis Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 I remember seeing a tutorial similar to what cyberjunkie explained. I tried to attempt it in 3D max some year and half ago and failed miserably Nice car model though Quote

von*ferret Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 nice nice, I didn't know if bend would distort it any. Very nice indeed. Quote
