The reflections everywhere make the mesh look all bumpy and stuff but its not too clean a mesh either. Actually I'm trying to run away from this model and do something new cause I spent too much time on this car

I guess I can come back to this later and do a wacko paintjob using textures and the interiors, etc :roll:

now that looks a billion times better, literaly. YOu use displacement mapping or add the geometry for the grooves? Id love to see a wireframe.

how dd you go about doing that? make a mesh and do some sort of loft thing?

One strip of the tyre was modelled, then made some 70-80 copies of it and used Bend modifier for all of them to bend in a angle so that that curl up and meet.

I remember seeing a tutorial similar to what cyberjunkie explained. I tried to attempt it in 3D max some year and half ago and failed miserably
