Gonna keep working probably on getting a nice render with better shadows. We'll see with what time. I have to send this out to be printed by tommorow night and I still have to work on my angels scene.

ie: the glass isn't great but I dont have a lot of time time spend tweaking it =(

The model looks very nice but the texture could use some serious work. It's scratchy and "fuzzy" looking over-all. Real metal doesn't look like that. If the paint was scratched or worn it would be so in very specific areas (around hatches, where people would touch it, where ammo and supplies are loaded in). Your lighting is also coming from every direction. This shows up most prominantly in that all your panels on the copter have a uniform outline of shine.

Also, remove the heighmap or make it much more specific. It looks like you got lazy and made it using the diffuse via a color-selection of lighter areas.

It's a good start but needs some heavy work to get it to "complete."

PS: Look at how modern military helicopters are painted. Lighter from below, camo/flatshade atop.

It has a bump map, and its hand painted to only show the rivets and the panels properly. There is only a skylight on very low and a light from coming from over your left shoulder so I dunno how you mean from every direction. Do you mean painted specificaly on the panels or the render. It is rather scratchy but that was more of a stylistic choice. I might tone down the scratches but we'll see if I have time. Trying to futz around with my fallen angel atm.

I attached some nice high rez photos of a Hind for you to check out for rivet size/spacing. Personally I'd ditch the hand-drawn normal map or make it more specific. It looks like it's in the scratches too. The scratches just look odd because it makes it look like the helicopter was following a gravel truck or plowing through a lot of underbrush.
