jfas Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 no but seriously, whats aftermath? Quote
D3ads Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 I love Valve and everything they've done... except Steam because that's balls. Uhh yeah, what Fletch said. Gabe said they were planning on releasing episodes and Aftermath is the first one, wonder how long it'll be... Quote
mike-0 Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Jesus, so much valve hatred these days. after what they've done to the editing community, i think they deserve it Quote
⌐■_■ Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Jesus, so much valve hatred these days. after what they've done to the editing community, i think they deserve it Not only to the editing comm... But I don't really give a rats ass about aftermath. So much mods comming out this winter, I'll be glad to only play the ones I'd really like to play. Quote
Quakis Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I'm not really too bothered much about Aftermath. Doesn't catch my attention, looks to me like a few more maps with nothing new to offer really. Im really bored of the enemies, characters and weapons. Quote
Taylor Swift Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I dont know If I'm going to get it. Doesnt look to exciting for me. I wonder whats Valve is up to? This expansion is the same as hl2.. looks boring! Opposing Force was one of my favourite expansions for years ago, i even played the demo everyday before school. Quote
ReNo Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Yeah, and nobody else releases expansion packs for their games that are essentially more of the same, do they? Difference is, HL2 was actually very widely praised, and so it's no surprise valve think people want it. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not excited about aftermath whatsoever. It just seems that everybody is jumping on the valve condemnation bandwagon these days, and taking any opportunity to slate them. Quote
ginsengavenger Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I'll buy Aftermath. I trust Valve to make genuinely good products and to improve upon solid foundations. I just mean I'm not holding my breath, because quality takes time. Quote
JynxDaddy Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I thought Aftermath was a free expansion Quote
D3ads Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Recent example of a good expansion that's more of the same would be Doom 3's Resurrection Of Evil, I enjoyed it a lot more than the original game because they'd listened to what people hated/loved about D3 and worked with that. Not the best example perhaps, but it's one that comes to mind these days. I'll gladly pay for Aftermath so long as it's below £20... Quote
Izuno Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 I can't wait for Aftermath... Fletch for President. Quote
johnm487 Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 i dont get the big guff about it being lame. Ive played everything valve has released since hl1 and i think their games are great. they're going to have some new enemies, more character development, and better graphics, its not much, but it sounds nice to me.
